Chatrian and Riesenbeek announced last year that they would step down after the 2024 tournament, when the five-year festival ends. For the 2025 edition, the Berlinale will return to a solo director model under the direction of Tricia Tuttle, former incoming chief director of the BFI London Film Festival.
